1. specifically, i'm intending this talk for the wives of husbands who would like to be more 'christian' somehow.
becauase...
- women vs men in live (work vs kids)
- besides, it's men's retreat weekend and that's a good chance to talk to wives.
should they teach?
should they spend hours in prayer?
should they quit their jobs to organize mens meetings?
Matt 28:18,19
18 And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age."
i.e.,evangelism and discipleship. helping people become christlike.
for every suggestion, discuss what is good about it and what is hard about it.
how do we do this? what stands in our way?
encourage your husband to be social at work?
what is good:
be hospitable
explicit requirement for elders / church leaders!
1 tim 3:1,2
1 The saying is trustworthy: If anyone aspires to the office of overseer, he desires a noble task.
2 Therefore an overseer must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, sober-minded, self-controlled,
respectable, hospitable, able to teach,
that's how important it is.
