Everything But Evangelism
Week 3 - Relevance
About the Study...
The idea behind the study is to cover all the aspects of living as a Christian in a non-Christian society other than the actual specific act of Evangelism.

intro : needless differences
why are you wearing that pink tutu?
becuase of jesus.

(read 1 cor 9:19-23)
i have become all things to all men, so that i may by all means save some.

1. Christians are different.
a. the gospel is different
the world believes different things than the church
1 cor 1:18 "the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of god for salvation "
b. the gospel is offensive
1 pet 4:4 "when you do not run with them into the same excesses of dissipation, and they malign you"
2. Christians should let the gospel be their difference.
a. we should become as similar as is useful.
paul is a jew to jews and a greek to greeks...
he takes on what is needed to relate to them.
e.g acts 16:3 - paul has timothy circumcised...

b. adding ethics to the bible inhibits this!

Application :
1. give an example of someone doing this...
2. list differences do we maintain that we shouldn't, and what good/bad the similarity does.
