we excuse it very readily...
this is equated to idolatry.

3. Specific - Sins of Hate
v8 - But now you also, put them all aside: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and abusive speech from your mouth

we excuse ourselves of a lot under the banner of "i don't have to like him, i just have to love him"
anger - this is hard for me. i react with anger when i feel hurt (marriage), when i'm annoyed (kids), etc

you can take the upper room discourse and shove it.
