teaching notes : 1 pet. 4:8 - 4:9
theme : fervent love
keep fervent in your love (to one another)
why? "love covers a multitude of sins"
is this the the one loving or being loved (or both)?
phrase also occurs in james 5:20 and and proverbs 10:12
robertson says that it's the other, catholics say that it's the lovers
who knows; maybe proverbs is just saying that it keeps unity.

1. be hospitable to one another without complaint (ways we are fervent in our love)
matt. 25:34-40, romans 12:10, hebrews 13:2
culturally, for us...what does this look like?
2. 'employ' your gifts for one another (ways we are fervent in our love)
romans 12:6,
as you have received gifts, employ it in serving as good stewards
the goal? so that in all things God may be glorified through christ
